I am notoriously stingy with giving out 10 out of 10s.
If you want the top score, you have to earn the top score. Sadly, most comics always fall short in at least one or two areas.
This week, however, the stars aligned, and we have not one, not two, but three 10 out of 10s.

What’s the common thread? They’re not all from the same publisher or the same creative teams, but they have a few things in common that should be obvious.
The structural bones of the stories are good
The art is excellent
These are all established IPs, and each issue respects and replicates the spirit of the original IP
They’re fun
We constantly bang the drum about the Golden Rule of Sales & Marketing, so here we have the proof in real-time. The jury is still out on how well these issues will sell, but given the same amount of time and attention, these titles will inevitably catch on.
It’s easy to be down about the Big 2, deservedly so, but there are good comics out there if you’re willing to look.
