Good morning, my friend,
If you’ve been following the Comics Industry news this week, you already know the sad news - George Pérez has announced he’s suffering from terminal cancer and won’t survive, according to his doctors, beyond 2022.
George Pérez is a legend in comics. I’ll happily fight anyone who says otherwise. He’s respsonsible for writing and art on the most memorable runs in both DC and Marvel history. His name is attached to the defintive (and best) Teen Titans run, some of the best issues of World’s Finest and Wonder Woman, as well as a key contributor to the better (or best, if you prefer) Crisis events at DC.
Marvel owes so much to George for his work on The Infintiy Gauntlet and the Avengers stories which are playing out to earn Disney billions in revenue via the MCU. You cannot overstate how much George has brought to comics and to us who love the medium.
We here at ComicalOpinions.com offer our prayers, hopes, and sincere thanks to George for all he’s done. We pray that a miracle would cause Goerge’s cancer to go into remission, and if it’s not meant to be, that his remaining time would be peaceful.
If you’ve ever had an opportunity to meet George Pérez, I ask that share your experiences as a comment to this post so that we may celebrate how much he’s meant to everyone.
On a lighter note, there’s only a few days left to contribute your opinions on what you want to see… err, hear in a ComicalOpinions.com podcast. The survery won’t take more than 90 seconds, but fill it out now before we shut it down. Don’t miss out on having your voice heard. Here’s the link:

Have a great day!
I grew up on George Perez comics, namely the New Teen Titans "Judas Contract" arc. His art for female characters was so perfect that I remember tracing the figures of Starfire and Wonder Girl as superheroine templates, then assigning new costumes and characters to the outlines, and submitting the original characters to Dial H for Hero (none got accepted..I forgive you Marv and Carmine!). Fast forward ahead several decades, and Perez influenced me profoundly yet again, both by producing a prolific series of live-action superheroine videos (Sisterhood of Superheroines), and by publishing a comic series about a team of powerful female characters (Sirens). The live-action episodes and comic books that I create today exist largely because of George Perez, full stop. Hail to the master!
