Comixology and Netflix Failing for the Same Reason

Good morning, my friend,

We’re starting the week with some bad news that reflects a good kind of problem. We didn’t get through the MASSIVE pile of comics we scheduled to review last week because, frankly, there are just too many. Rest assured. We’ll catch up on the pile this week. So, our schedule slipped (bad), but that means you’ll get a steady stream of reviews through this week (good).

See? Lemons —> Lemonade

Comical Opinions is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support our work, consider becoming a paid subscriber.

This week’s opinion piece tackles a critical eye at the recent ComiXology layoffs and how the digital comics platform’s woes have more in common with Netflix than most realize. Give it a read, and make sure to give the opinion a Like and your choice comments.

[Op-Ed] Comixology and Netflix Failing for the Same Reason

Next up, we have a small but exciting milestone to announce. The Comical Opinions YouTube channel passed the 100 subscriber mark. We’re still experimenting with what does and doesn’t get attention, but the results are promising so far. I’m looking forward to announcing the magical “1,000 subscribers” milestone very soon.

If you haven’t already, subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up to date with our foray into video. Click here.

Last but not least, we’re taking a new look at last year’s experiments with collectibles. Diamond Select, Hot Toys, Sideshow, and more are on the list, so if you have any interest in those collectible makers, let us know what you’d like to see. Do you like product reviews? Unboxing videos? Something else? Leave us a comment below with your feedback.
