Good morning, my friend,

This week’s OpEd ponders the value of fan feedback. I had an interesting exchange with Taurin Clarke on Twitter when he expressed his annoyance over fans who complain.

Don’t worry. Our exchange was respectful and (I think) productive, so this isn’t a ragebait rant. But it got me thinking about the serious value fan feedback can provide creators. Give it a read and let me know what you think.

Next up, this ICv2 article is making the rounds because the always-curmudgeonly Rob Salkowitz laments a number of issues troubling the Western Periodical Comics market, and those issues sound eerily familiar to a number issues we and our colleagues have pointed out for some time.

In fairness, Salkowitz almost hits the nail on the head with most points, but he (unsurprisingly) stops just short of saying Marvel and DC screwed themselves. Still, it’s worth a read from one of the few reputable Comics Journalism news sites left.

SUPERHERO COMICS ARE IN A CREATIVE RUT. WHO, IF ANYONE, WILL FLY TO THE RESCUE?

Last but not least, take care of yourself. My Spidey Sense tells me change is in the wind for the Comics Industry. For some, things will get worse before they get better, but they WILL get better. Read comics, focus on the ones you like, pass on the ones you don’t, and be happy.
