Good morning, my friend,
There’s no Op-Ed today instead of a special announcement.
For the last few years, you’ve been gracious enough to read our reviews, report on happenings in the Comics Industry, and generally provide insight on what’s going right or oh so very wrong. But there’s one area I’ve avoided, and that’s getting down to the business of making comics.
Today, that changes.
Over the next few months, I’m starting a journey to create my first independently-funded comic. It won’t be easy, I’m going to make a lot of mistakes, but I firmly believe it will be an opportunity to stretch beyond my background as a prose writer into a medium I love.
Best of all, you’ll be along for the ride. I’ll document the major steps of this journey here, on YT, and the podcast so you can get a first-hand account of what’s it like as a new(ish) comic creator trying to bring stories into the world.
