Looking over our reviews and previews from the past week and popularity patterns for the first half of 2021, our most popular reviews — by far— are female-led titles that take place in other times and other worlds.
Marvel has a catchphrase of sorts. They’re fond of saying “we’re the world outside your window.” But is that what readers really want?
Do comics readers want the relatable realism of the world they already know?
Or do comics readers crave the amazing and the fantastic?
Hmm, food for thought. As we continue to grow and obsess over our data to get a clearer sense of what our readers want, it seems folks want more mystery and magic, so expect to see us reach out to more publishers looking for more fantasy and adventure just for you. 2021 is the year of “MORE,” so here we go.
