One last wish for you
Comic Reviews - Week Ending 12/26/2021
Good morning, my friend,
We’re days away from the end of 2021, and it’s been a heck of a roller coaster ride. The Comics Industry has seen a number of shifts that we can only guess at how they will eventually play out.
In no particular order, we’ve seen major staff changes at the Big 2 (mostly DC Comics), the emergence of blockchain as a driving force among comic artists and publishers via NFTs, the juggernaut that is Manga overshadowing Western markets, significant supply chain disruption throwing nearly every publishing calendar for a Saturn ring-sized loop, and so much more.
If nothing else, 2021 has been a year of unprecedented change, and I commend you for riding it out as best as you can.
My wish for you, the last wish of 2021, is that you find a way to reflect. Reflect on what you’ve experienced this year. Reflect on what worked for you, what didn’t, what made you happy, and what didn’t feel so good. Reflect and know that you’ve made it through for a reason. Whatever that reason is, know that the opportunity is there to use that reason for your own good and the good of those around you.
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and it’s always for your benefit. Either to correct somehing that’s out of alignment or to help you grow into a better you. Whatever the reason, reflect and know that the universe is looking out for you.
Stay strong, my friend. You made it. Reflect, learn, grow.
