Good morning, my friend,
July is a re-tooling month for ComicalOpinions.com, and as promised, we’re taking the results of our reader survey to heart to make changes to the site to make it a better reading experience for you. Here’s what’s happening based on the survey results:
You want more priority on small publisher and indie comic reviews. We’re working up a new review schedule to make sure we review indie titles every week starting this week.
You want clearer site navigation AND a clear way to search on the mobile version of our site. Therefore, we’ve updated out mobile menu to include a search button to make searching available on mobile. Simply click on the yellow magnifying glass.
You want less focus on previews as a separate article and more preview images in the review articles. Well, you got it!
Your preferred method to hear about the new articles when they get published is Facebook and Instagram, aside from visiting the site directly. Again, you got it. We’re not shuttering our presence on other platforms (e.g. Twitter), but we will be working to beef up our presence on FB and IG going forward.
You don’t like pop-ads. Okay, we hear you and we’ve changed our ad strategy. Effectively immediately, no more pop-up ads. We may take a financial hit, but it’s worth it to give you the better reading experience.
Changes still in the works: We received your comments about the amount of spoilers in our reviews and the scoring system. We’re working on consistently scaling back the spoiler section, and very shortly, we’ll be publishing an article about a revamped scoring system to make sure our scores are transparent and consistent. Stay tuned on that front!
Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the survey. We take your input seriously, and the more we grow, the more we want to hear from you.
If you every want to suggest changes that you think could make the site better, send an email to reviews@comicalopinions.com. We read every email.
