Good morning, my friend,
What a weird and wacky week it’s been. Jim Lee got a promotion (mostly in name only) at DC, this past weekend was Free Comic Book Day, and the WGA is on strike for the first time since 2008. There are lots to watch and consider that have a direct or indirect impact on the world of comics.
Oh, hey! Did I mention the WGA is on strike? Guess what this week’s Op-Ed is about.
Does the strike have a direct effect on comics? No, but there are downstream consequences, so it’s good to talk about the nature of the strike so you know which way the writers’ winds are blowing.
[Op-Ed] The Pros and Cons of the WGA Strike
Next up, we’re trying something a little different this week on the interest article. The topic is comic character creation and all the things writers/artists need to consider when making a character memorable.
Give it a read, and leave a comment below with your thoughts.
