Hey, my friend,

Welcome to Insider’s Cut #3!

All the polls are tallied and votes counted. You wanted a rewrite for The Ultimates #12, so you got it!

Plus, three indie gems and your Qs answered.

Thanks for joining the $7/month VIP tier - let’s rewrite the flops together!

The Flop Fix

Broken: The Ultimates #12 , published by Marvel on May 21, 2025

Why Fix It?: The issue reveals that the Ultimate Avengers died during their confrontation with Banner in “Heaven.” Doom explained that he used time travel, against Iron Lad’s wishes, to save the team. Tony acknowledges that his methods haven’t accomplished anything, so the Avengers should scrap their efforts (literally renaming themselves from Avengers 2.0 to Avengers 3.0), and that they should start again. In effect, Marvel throws out the previous 11 issues as a waste of time because Tony doesn’t understand what’s at stake.

The Fix: The Ultimates #12 (The Fixed Edition)

[Author’s Note: In honor of the passing of Peter, the rewrite will incorporate a character David created. See if you can spot which one.]

The issue begins with Tony Stark gathering the Avengers together after his recovery. Since his nervous system is now attached to the Immortus Engine as part of his recovery, Tony is shocked to learn that he can see through Time. Inquisitive as ever, Tony gets a brilliant idea - What if he could send a message through time to the future for help? In typical Stark fashion, he wouldn’t be breaking his “No Time Travel” rule because he would restrict his interactions to the future ONLY.

Tony sends his message. Surprisingly, he gets more than a simple reply.
